WCRA Bend Schooling Day

We had a lovely day sunday, and the weather was Kind to us.
There was some good racing, The Were Rabbit for one being cleared on a bend and doing so against some good dogs. Some valuable experience was gained by some of the younger dogs such as Floyd and Belle who at 20lb had the chance to follow Terraquin around a short bend. We also had new dogs that had never been behind the lure running the back straight.
The ground had benefitted from some rain over recent days and the campers all mucked in to get the track ready Saturday evening before settling down to a nice fish and chip supper and a few liquid refreshments. It was great to have the chance of a good chat with some experienced racers in a relaxed atmosphere. Ann and Yvonne ran the greasy spoon cafe like Gordon Ramsey knocking up bacon, sausage eggs like you wouldnt believe, many a shirt was ruined with egg yolk!  Food was that good, that there was a queue all day.  Even some of the local villagers popped in for a bacon roll and enjoyed watching the racing.
A big thanks to our ever present Race Manager Dave Cuttler for all his hard work.
Thankyou to al those who entered and all those who helped out on the day.  A huge thank you to all 3 of our bike boys, Frank, Kieran and Ellis, especially to Kieran and Ellis who at 10 years old worked tirelessly all day.
